New 99-Word Fiction :: Balloons and Beer for Bumper

Greetings all,

I’m announcing new 99-word, very short piece of fiction that readers can enjoy in about 30 seconds.

This is an odd story, even by the standards of what happens with these 99 word gems each week.

It’s part history, part hard science fiction and all rowdy fun fiction to meet the demands of the current project prompt of the Carrot Ranch leadership, Carlie Mills, who no doubt thought she’d stump some of us with this round. I bet that only I was fortunate enough to find and connect this piece of history to base a story on. They’re not part of the 99 words, but all the references are included with the story for you to check out.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Oh, and if any of you live near Huntsville, AL, I need to hear from you about this brewery. #rocketrepublicbrewing

    1. Hi Sadje,
Thanks – I’m pretty jazzed about this one. I was drawing a full blank on the prompt, but found this nugget of history and it was fun from there on.
So glad you liked it. 🙂
