New Non-Fiction Essay: Technology For Poets: Accelerometers

Happy New Year all,

I wanted to start the year off with a fun answer to a question that has been bugging me.  I wanted to know how our technology detects and measures motion and can do a variety of things that both inform and even protect us from dangerous changes in motion. The answer does NOT involve someone stepping through and breaking a laser beam. It’s much cooler than that.
